HFCs

HFCs are third generation synthetic refrigerants based on fluorinated gases. HFC stands for hydrofluorocarbons and consists of compounds containing hydrogen, fluorine, and carbon atoms. HFCs have an Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) of zero, but are characterized by a moderate to high Global Warming Potential (GWP).

Advice from our experts

HFCs have been widely used for many years in refrigeration and air conditioning systems as alternatives to CFCs and HCFCs. Under current F gas legislation, however, the use of high GWP HFCs is increasingly restricted. As a result, they are mainly applied in existing installations where an immediate switch to alternative refrigerants is not technically or economically feasible.

In addition to virgin HFCs, we also offer regenerated HFC refrigerants. After recovery and proper processing, these gases are restored to specification quality and can be reused. The use of regenerated HFCs contributes to emission reduction, circularity, and extending the service life of existing installations.

Our HFC refrigerant range includes:

The following regenerated refrigerants are also available:

  • R-422D regenerated
  • R-404A regenerated
  • R-407C regenerated
  • R-410A regenerated
  • R-507 regenerated
