SOLVOX®

Optimising the dissolution and distribution of oxygen in water with precise dose adjustment for smooth and reliable operation with the added bonus of odour control

Our SOLVOX® systems help remove bottlenecks in water treatment by providing additional oxygen capacity for the activated sludge process. This can help water treatment operators overcome performance downturns as a result of overloading, short-term increases in influent or emergency situations.

Available as pure oxygen and air-oxygen hybrid models, our SOLVOX® range comes in a versatile design to fit any plant basin configuration. Our systems can be simply installed as part of a retrofit operation, without draining down, and are compatible with existing diffuser grids and surface aerators. Once installed, the equipment is easy to operate, fully automatic and flexible. Drawing on their vast process and design know-how, our specialists can help you design the optimum solution for your treatment plant. We support you every step of the way from process design and equipment build through installation and commissioning to pilot studies.

All SOLVOX® systems are offered with an oxygen supply scheme as standard, which, depending on your volume requirements, can be based on liquid oxygen deliveries or an ECOVAR® on-site generation system.

Key features of SOLVOX®
  • Increases treatment capacity for aerobic bio-treatment plants
  • Lowers CAPEX investment
  • Simple to install and operate
  • Improves performance without construction work
  • Optimises oxygen utilisation
  • Supports more variation in oxygen demand with flexible oxygen input
  • Eliminates the need for covered tanks
  • Compatible with existing aeration equipment

SOLVOX® B

The SOLVOX® B submerged diffuser hose produces streams of fine bubbles from tiny pores along the length of the hose. No additional energy is required for the hoses and they can be used very effectively with existing aeration systems. The hoses are manufactured from a very stable chemical-resistant polymer that is also suitable for up to 20% ozone mixture . When the hose is under pressure, the holes expand to allow the passage of gas into the wastewater and when the pressure drops, the holes close up again. This is the most cost-effective solution for deep tanks.

Key features of SOLVOX® B
  • Low investment cost
  • No external energy supply required
  • High flexibility of oxygen transfer
  • Fast and easy installation, even in operational tanks
  • Easy adaptation to any tank or basin shape
  • High oxygen utilisation in medium-deep to deep water
  • No clogging of pores, even after long periods of non-operation
  • Maintenance-free
  • Silent, environmentally friendly operation
  • Ideal solution for emergency and temporary oxygenation relief

SOLVOX® D

Our SOLVOX® D in-line gas injection system is designed for use with pressurised pipes that convey wastewater. It uses a spherical-head nozzle to effectively disperse and transfer oxygen into the pressure pipes. This prevents sulfurous corrosion caused by anaerobic processes and provides a degree of pre-treatment by reducing the load on downstream stages.

Key features of SOLVOX® D
  • No offensive odours from hydrogen sulfide or volatile organic sulfides
  • No concrete or metal corrosion as a result of acid generation and no toxic gas production as a result of hydrogen sulfide
  • Improved settling of primary sludge during preliminary clarification
  • Partial treatment of incoming wastewater
  • No energy source needed
  • No chemical additives
  • Low investment costs
  • Low operating cost
  • Maintainable without process shutdown
  • Non-clogging design

SOLVOX® V

The SOLVOX® V (venturi dissolver) jet mixer combines superior oxygen mass transfer efficiency with high rates of transfer. It has several operating modes, allowing oxygenation and mixing functions to be separated if required. This complete package comes with either liquid oxygen or an on-site supply scheme. The delivery of oxygen is fully automated and controlled by a dissolved oxygen sensor. SOLVOX® V is particularly well suited to activated sludge basins with lower water depths.

Key features of SOLVOX® V
  • Ideal oxygen utilisation and high oxygenation efficiency rates
  • Intensive wastewater agitation
  • Extremely economical
  • Highly flexible oxygen dissolution process
  • Minimal assembly effort – no construction work required
  • Ready for rapid deployment – can also be assembled in full tanks
  • High operational reliability thanks to robust design and high-quality system component
  • Suitable for temporary and short-term oxygenation requirements

SOLVOX® R

SOLVOX® R is a proven, versatile technology suited to drinking water and applicable wastewater applications. This series of pressurised reactors is the most efficient method of adding dissolved oxygen to primary treatment tanks, overloaded bio-filters and primary settlement tanks, delivering the power of oxygen with minimal turbulence and ultra-low off-gas volumes. The reactors can be installed in line or as a sidestream option and in closed tanks where access is limited.

Key features of SOLVOX® R
  • High-efficiency oxygen and carbon dioxide dissolution
  • Enriched oxygenated water or carbonic acid solution with little or no bubbles
  • No moving parts
  • Suited to in-line, sidestream and recycle modes
  • Installation outside of basin for ease of maintenance
  • Installation upfront of settlement or sedimentation stages as very little turbulence is produced
  • Suited to plastic, stainless steel and carbon steel pipework
  • Low noise level
  • Low pressure drop
  • Variable carbon dioxide and oxygen transfer rates and water flow
  • Can be used with CO2 for drinking and supply water applications

SOLVOX® VITOX

Our SOLVOX® VITOX oxygenation systems are designed for more substantial upgrades and new builds, where high rates of oxygen transfer, good process mixing and process performance guarantees are required. These solutions are suited to fully mixed tanks, plug-flow or tapered aeration systems. They are permanently installed outside the tank and can be readily accessed for maintenance. Using extremely energy-efficient pumps, these custom-built solutions support wide variations in oxygen demand and mixing duties.

SOLVOX® VITOX comprises a venturi nozzle system with a pumped sidestream recycle pipework arrangement and distribution nozzles to ensure dissolved oxygen is thoroughly mixed throughout the activated sludge plant.
